History of Past Queens: Eartha Kitt

Posted by Sabrina Belle On 12:50 AM

'History of Past Queens' is a weekly post dedicated to past influential black women who made great strides during their reign on this earth.

Eartha Kitt was one of a kind there is not enough space on this post to show how talented she was.
Eartha Kitt was born Eartha Mae Kitt from January 17, 1927 t and passed oddly enough on, December 25, 2009. She was a singer and actress. She is most famous for her song 'Santa Baby' that is still a traditional Christmas theme song played every year. She was also famously known as 'Cat Woman' on the 60's television series 'Batman'. Eartha' unique gift of captivating her audience with her cartoonist expressions and her style was very impressive. Kitt's career suffered after speaking verbally about the treatment of soldiers in the Vietnam War. That setback did not stop her...she continued her career in Europe. Eartha picked up a role starring Eddie Murphy and Hale Berry in 'Boomarang'. Eartha died Christmas Day 2008 after a long battle with colon cancer.
